The lawsuit was filed in court for the District of Delaware; company did not inform which patents were in dispute
After 11 years, the biggest event in the Brazilian aeroagricultural sector will return to the Central-West next year. The Brazilian Agricultural Aviation Congress (AvAg Congress) 2024 will be in Mato Grosso, on August 20th to 22nd. More precisely at Santo Antônio de Leverger Airport, about 30 kilometers from Cuiabá. To top it off, the meeting will also have an international scope – as it also includes the Mercosur and Latin American Agricultural Aviation Congress. This is according to the annual relay that takes place between the Brazilian aeroagricultural entity, the National Association of Private Aeroagricultural Companies of Uruguay (Anepa) and the Argentine Federation of Agroaerial Chambers (Fearca). The three countries that head the Mercosur and Latin American Agricultural Aviation Committee.
The announcement took place in a live broadcast this Thursday morning (28), by the National Union of Agricultural Aviation Companies (Sindag), which promotes the event. The transmission was in charge of the general coordinator of the AvAg Congress and administrative coordinator of Sindag, Marília Luíze Schüller, together with the operational coordinator of the Congress, Janete Lima, and the director of the company NextDream Intermediações e Eventos (owner of the airport), Nathan Henrique de Souza.
The trio spoke directly from the location that will receive the programming and the live also had the participation of the president of Sindag, Hoana Almeida Santos, and the entity's executive director, Gabriel Colle. In addition to the speech by the Deputy Secretary of Tourism of Mato Grosso, Felipe Tanahashi, who sent a video welcoming the return of the event to the State. Tanahashi highlighted his support for the AvAg Congress and the importance of the sector for the State that has the largest aero-agricultural fleet in Brazil. The live also had the participation of the first sponsor of the AvAg 2024 Congress, in this case, CSA – Centro de Serviços Aeronáuticos, from Goiânia. It has been a partner of the event since 2020 and had a speech from its commercial director, Luciano Cruz, highlighting once again the importance of the event.
Brazil has the second largest aero-agricultural fleet in the world, with more than 2,5 aircraft operating in crop management, sowing and fertilizer application, in addition to operations to combat forest fires (in 2021 alone, there were 19,5 million of liters of water thrown against flames in crops and natural reserves). The sector has existed in the country for 76 years and is present in 23 states, – a ranking that Mato Grosso leads with its more than 600 aircraft.
The AvAg Congress is changing location after three editions in Sertãozinho/SP, in 2019, 2022 and this year (in 2020 and 2021 the Congress was virtual, due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions). Hoana highlighted that the relocation of the meeting to the Central-West in 2024 mainly meets a demand from the sector itself. “This was in a meeting that took place at the end of the 2023 Congress in Sertãozinho (last July)”, explained the president, referring conversation with around 50 exhibitors at the event and members of Sindag (apart from the comments received in the post-Congress 2023 survey). “The new location has a wonderful structure and Sindag continues working to ensure that the event continues to be great and grow every year”, pondered Hoana.
Director Gabriel Colle recalled that, being more in the center of the country, the event should also facilitate the participation of operators from the North and Northeast regions of the country. Furthermore, the transfer of the schedule from July to August should also help. “This adjustment also served to place Congress more within the off-season in these regions”, recalled Colle. In practice, the aeroagricultural meeting has always been itinerant, having passed through the Central-West in 2009 and 2013 (when it took place in Cuiabá) and in 2012 – in Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to the general coordinator of the event, in addition to meeting the basic demands of the AvAg Congress: nearby airport and hotel infrastructure to receive national and foreign participants, a safe and spacious area for exhibitors and conditions for aerial demonstrations, the potential of the partnership in Saint Anthony of Leverger. Not only has the area managed by NextDream already received numerous improvements (in a project to consolidate itself as an option for aeronautical and even automobile events), but the company is providing full support to configure the location according to the needs of the aeroagricultural meeting. “We are jointly putting together the AvAg Congress, with the event gaining a broad base that meets its logistical demands and the private airport consolidating its name in the circuit of aeronautical events”, summarizes Marília.
Operational coordinator Janete Lima, in turn, presented the draft map of the event, which should occupy two large new hangars and the maneuvering area in front of the new part (which will be covered with plastic canvas). It also encompasses four old hangars on the other side of the yard. Everything encompassing the display of technologies, equipment and services, the three Congress auditoriums (main, exhibitors and Ibravag), as well as rooms for short courses and support services spaces.
The final map will be presented next Tuesday (October 3), at 14 pm, in a virtual meeting with potential exhibitors, partners and other interested parties. The link to participate will be published on the Sindag website and networks and the meeting will also mark the beginning of the sale of spaces for exhibitors – with the values and deadlines for each lot.
During the launch event, the AvAg 2024 Congress website was also launched. With the event's new branding, still highlighting planes, helicopters and drones (now in the propellers of the Congress symbol), but with new colors: green and orange . Focusing now on valuing the colors (respectively) of agriculture and land. The page provides a summary of the last four editions of the aeroagricultural meeting, with access to image banks and other donations from the editions. In addition to the link to download the Congress app.
In the coming days, the list of official hotels for the event, the contact details of the official travel agency for the congress and other information should be available there – including the tab to register for the AvAg Congress.
