Research makes pear cultivation possible in the hinterland
The promising results can be seen in the recent shipment of pears produced in the hinterland to markets in the south of the country
From the 3rd to the 7th of February, Tropical Melhoramento e Genética (TMG) participates in the Show Rural Coopavel 2020 and presents to producers three new soybean launches for the South of Brazil, in addition to six cultivars already consolidated in the portfolio.
In the company's planting areas at the event, all cultivars were sown in two seasons, September and October, demonstrating the appropriate positioning and potential of each one. The launches are the TMG 7058IPRO, TMG 2165IPRO and TMG 2364IPRO, solutions to serve different regions of the country with common characteristics.
TMG 7058IPRO is a cultivar that combines the Intacta RR2 PRO and Inox technologies, its strong point is precocity with productive potential, it is recommended for higher and colder regions and is tolerant to lodging. The difference between the TMG 2165IPRO is its rusticity and productive stability; cultivar that is an option for early planting, recommended for lower, warmer regions with lower clay content.
TMG 2364IPRO's strengths include excellent root health, high production ceiling, lodging tolerance and resistance to Phytophthora. Allows second harvest corn and is recommended for areas ranging from medium to high fertility and for lower to higher regions.
Visitors to the 2020 Rural Show will also learn about two TMG soybean lines, future releases that are in the testing phase in the company's genetic improvement and will soon add to the portfolio.
The other TMG cultivars, already consolidated and which have been bringing results in the field, will also be on the agricultural plots so that farmers can clarify their doubts. They are: TMG 7061IPRO, TMG 7067IPRO, TMG 7062IPRO, TMG 7063IPRO TMG 7260IPRO and TMG 7262RR.
The transgenic drought-tolerant trait HB4 in soybeans was approved for commercial use in Brazil in 2019. TMG and Verdeca, a joint venture between Arcadia Biosciences and Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp. are partners in the development of the new trait, which will soon help producers face climatic and production challenges.
At the Coopavel Rural Show, visitors will be able to ask questions about this new product and see in an image the visual difference between soybeans with HB4 technology and without HB4 technology, in an induced drought experiment with planting on 04/01/2020. The launch of the first varieties by TMG depends on the deregulation (approval) of the technology in European countries and China, the largest importers of the oilseed produced in Brazil.
