The fertilizer sector contributes greatly to the development of Brazilian agribusiness, by providing productivity and quality to the production of food and other essential products for Brazilian and global society. Due to their importance, the main issues that guide the segment need to be put on the agenda, in order to provide sustainable evolution to the market, generating value for national agriculture and promoting employment and income for people.

To contribute to this purpose, ANDA – National Association for the Diffusion of Fertilizers is holding on November 23rd, starting at 9:00 am, the 8th Brazilian Fertilizer Congress, which is considered one of the main events on the national calendar, as it brings the most relevant themes for the development of the sector, agribusiness and the national economy. The opening ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina.

In this edition, more than 2000 people are expected to register, including the main opinion makers, executives who work in the Brazilian and international fertilizer market, as well as professionals, technicians, academics and other audiences linked to agriculture. Registration is free and can be done via the official website: www.congressoanda.com.br

With a robust program, consisting of three panels, the online event invited renowned sector experts for a morning of highly qualified content, with lectures and debates on the panorama of the global and Brazilian fertilizer market; an assessment of the national economy and expectations for agribusiness; and the role of logistics and infrastructure for the country's development.

The first panel “Brazilian and World Fertilizer Market” will show a current scenario in the sector, contributing to the strategic planning of rural producers and industries. With this information, it is possible to make more assertive decisions to achieve greater productivity in each crop.

Coordinated by Corrine Ricard, senior VP and president of Mosaic Fertilizandos Brasil, it will feature a lecture by Alzbeta Klein, CEO and general director of the International Fertilizer Association IFA, followed by a debate with the participation of Carlos Cogo, founder of Cogo Intelligence in Agribusiness and Kauanna Navarro , journalist specializing in agribusiness at Argus Media Brasil.

“The Economy in Brazil and Expectations for Agribusiness” is the theme of the second panel, which will present a portrait of the economic panorama, its impacts on Brazilian agriculture and what paths are expected for the sector in the coming years. During this period of pandemic, even in the face of all the challenges, agriculture sustained the national economy and continuously produced food and products to supply the domestic market and international demand.

The lecture for this panel will be given by Marcos Jank, coordinator of the Insper Agro Global Center, while the coordination will be in charge of Olaf Hektoen, president of Yara Fertilizandos Brasil. Guilherme Bastos Filho, Secretary of Agricultural Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and Marcello Brito, President of the Board of Directors of ABAG - Brazilian Agribusiness Association, will participate in the debates.

Infrastructure and transport directly affect the competitiveness of the entire Brazilian agribusiness production chain. Therefore, the segment has constantly demanded improvements in road, rail and airport infrastructure and the expansion of modes to be able to transport the harvest at adequate costs, expanding the advantages of national products in the foreign market.

Thus, the third panel “Logistics and Infrastructure as Development of Brazilian Agro”, which will be coordinated by Lieven Cooreman, CEO of EuroChem Fertilizandos Tocantins, will have the participation, as debaters, of José Velloso, executive president of ABIMAQ – Brazilian Association of the Industry of Machinery and Equipment and former Minister Roberto Rodrigues, coordinator of FGVAgro. All panels will be moderated by journalist William Waack.

The 8th Brazilian Fertilizer Congress will also mark the official launch of the “Carlos Florence” Award.
