The delegation from the Mato Grosso Soybean Producers Association (Aprosoja/MT), which is participating in the China mission, took part today (31) in a strategic meeting in the city of Hailun with representatives from companies, industries, government and local businesses. The meeting was led by the director of the local government, Sun Keyan, who presented Hailun as one of the main soybean production centers in the country, with more than 5 million hectares dedicated to this crop.

During the presentation, Sun highlighted the quality of the region's black soil, rich in nutrients, and the research capacity of local industries to improve grain selection, resulting in soybeans recognized for their excellence, including by China's Ministry of Agriculture.

“The city has good soil and air quality, so the soybean production area has been recognized for its good environmental conditions, making the city recognized throughout China. That is why one of our goals is to become an exemplary city for soybean production in the world,” said Sun Keyan.

The president of Aprosoja/MT, Lucas Costa Beber, took the opportunity to share the Brazilian model of sustainable production, emphasizing direct planting and the sustainability projects implemented by the Mato Grosso-based organization. The meeting was also a space to discuss topics such as family succession, profitability and production systems, strengthening the exchange of knowledge between nations.

Fernando Cadore, who is an advisory board member of Aprosoja/MT and president of Cooprosoja, highlighted the importance of the meeting to establish new partnerships and exchanges. “It is important for us to understand the Chinese production process, the way they process it and the importance they give to soybeans. This is a very useful exchange of experiences for the association and for the direction we are taking our entity,” Cadore pointed out.

The delegation also visited Zhong Qiang, a soybean processing company, and two other factories, Dongxue Biotechnology and Pengxiang Industry and Trade, where they were able to observe up close the industrialization of soybean derivatives.

For the financial director of Aprosoja/MT, Nathan Belusso, it was interesting to see how the city’s population values producers and soybean crops. “Soybeans are very present in the daily lives of the population here and they value that. They give due importance to the crop that is very present in the locals’ meals,” highlighted the director.

Aprosoja/MT's mission in China represents a significant step towards international collaborations and strengthening soybean production, aligning best practices from Brazil and China.

In addition to the president of Aprosoja/MT, the delegation is composed of the entity's administrative director, Diego Bertuol; the financial director, Nathan Belusso; the southern vice president, Fernando Ferri; the western vice president, Luiz Otávio Tatim; the executive director, Wellington Andrade and the president of Cooprosoja, Fernando Cadore.
