In a total of more than 4,6 kilometers driven, the technical team from the Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja-MT) visited 222 properties located in the East and West regions of the State, in the second week of inspections by the 6th edition of the Stage Milho Technological Circuit. The inspection was carried out between the 20th and 24th of May and the initial report indicates the presence of diseases such as Diplodia and polysera rust in the inspected crops.
In addition to on-site technical inspection in the planting area, Aprosoja-MT project supervisors, who are agronomists, also administered 125 questionnaires, updated registration and registered new members.
Among the points highlighted as relevant in the technical team's pre-report, in the Western Region, some producers chose to plant popcorn in 100% of the area, which is quite common in the locality. There, a high incidence of Diplodia was also found in crops and some properties have already started harvesting the grain.
In the Eastern Region of Mato Grosso, supervisors found several areas with symptoms of stunting (including red). The presence of polyseptic rust was also detected. Producers from municipalities located in the Region also complained about the resistance of margoso grass and chicken feet to Glyphosate.
In both regions, technicians also collected complaints about the high cost of corn and detected a reduction in planted area. In the West Region, producers replaced the grain with cotton, while in the East they did not plant or preferred sesame.
With the survey, the Aprosoja-MT Sustainability Management team will make a final results report and initiate support actions, resolutions and contributions with producers to work on solving the problems found.
