The Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosoja) will hold the 23st Armazena MT Business Fair on August 1, in Cuiabá. The event will be at Buffet Leila Malouf – Espaço Solari, starting at 13:30 pm. Entry is free.
The main objective of the fair is to encourage the construction of warehouses in the State and present ways to reduce bureaucracy in the process. To this end, there will be three lectures, with the themes “Economic Viability”, “Lines of Credit” and “Licensing”.
Furthermore, the event will be attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), financial institutions such as Banco do Brasil and Sicredi, and companies specializing in the sector, AGI, Consilos, Gehaka, GSI, HFC Construtora, Jhonrob and Triunfo.
The deficit - According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, FAO, Mato Grosso currently records a storage deficit of 64%. The world body determines a storage capacity greater than 20% of production. In other words, that the grains are 100% stored in warehouses and that, in addition, there is a “surplus” of 20%. This is not the case in Mato Grosso.
Currently, according to data from the Mato-Grossense Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the 2016/2017 soybean harvest had a production of 31,3 million tons and corn production of 30,5 million tons. By way of comparison, in 2000/2001, there were 9,6 million tons of soybeans and 1 million tons of corn.
