Advances in terms of cultivar genetics and production technology stand out
The contracting of rural credit for the 2020/2021 harvest, from July last year to January this year, reached R$135,3 billion, which represents an increase of 17% compared to the same period in the previous harvest .
According to Agricultural Financing Balance Sheet for the 2020/2021 Crop, investment credit reached R$43,52 billion (41%), R$72,7 billion for funding (13%), R$11,59 billion for commercialization (9%) and R$7,59 billion for industrialization (4%)
Investment applications stood at R$ 1,75 billion (7%) with contracts for medium producers (Pronamp), R$ 9,72 billion (9%) for small farmers (Pronaf) and for other producers in R$32,05 billion (58,2%).
Rural savings resources applied to investment financing carried out by medium and small producers accounted, respectively, for 41% (Pronamp) and 46% (Pronaf). The remaining producers account for 34% of investment contracting.
In relation to investment programs, with resources from BNDES administered by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, there is the Modernization Program for the Fleet of Agricultural Tractors and Associated Implements and Harvesters (Moderfrota): R$ 6,97 billion (47%) , Warehouse Construction and Expansion Program (PCA): R$ 1,62 billion (73%), Incentive Program for Technological Innovation in Agricultural Production (Inovagro): R$ 1,54 billion (31%), Incentive Program to Irrigation and Production in a Protected Environment (Moderinfra): R$686 million (110%) and the Agricultural Modernization and Conservation of Natural Resources Program (Moderagro): R$1,27 billion (36%).
Regarding funding credits, the amounts contracted by medium producers (Pronamp) were R$ 16,2 billion (6%), R$ 11,12 billion (17%) by small producers (Pronaf) and R$ 45,38 billion (15%) for other producers.
The director of the Credit and Information Department of the Mapa Agricultural Policy Secretariat, Wilson Vaz de Araújo, highlights that rural credit contracts with resources from the Controlled Rural Savings source reached R$41,09 billion, an expansion of 81%, responding for 30% of rural credit in the current harvest, until January this year.
