The National Association for the Promotion and Innovation of the Biological Industry (Anpii Bio) held its Ordinary General Assembly (AGO) last Tuesday (27) in Curitiba (PR), which brought together representatives of member companies to present the results achieved in the last three years, elect the new board of directors and define the guidelines for the next two years. Since 2022, the entity has been undergoing a restructuring process, which included rebranding and expanding the scope of its activities beyond inoculants, covering the entire bioinput chain. This strategic step strengthened its performance, increasing the number of members from 7 to 49 companies, in addition to having consolidated ANPII Bio as one of the main entities in the sector, with a fundamental role in the discussions for the approval and regulation of the Bioinput Law.

For the next two years, Thiago Delgado (Agroceres Binova) will be the chairman of Anpii Bio's Board of Directors. He will take over alongside vice-chair Cinthia Delfini (Novonesis), who was reelected to the position. In addition to the election of the new board of directors, members of the entity's Advisory Board were elected, responsible for supporting the Board of Directors in making strategic decisions. The seven elected full members are Alexandre Alves (Mosaic), Andrea Giroldo (Agrocete), Bruna Canizella (Rizobacter), Camilla dos Santos (Spraytec), Jaqueline Cruz (Syngenta), Luciano Galera (Valeouro Biotec) and Marcelo Guindani (ICL), in addition to alternates Nicolas Casarin (Biocaz), Stanis Bombonato (Lallemand Plant Care) and Wellington Adão (Lynx Biological).

During the meeting, Anpii Bio highlighted the achievements of the last administration, including the consolidation of its own structure with two directorates leading operations, supported by technical teams and a network of experts who contribute to the strategic development of the entity. During this period, the association also launched its own market intelligence platforms focused on biological inoculants and biodefensives and invested in the creation of exclusive events, such as the Market Intelligence Workshop, which presents unprecedented data and projections about the sector; the Bioinputs and Innovation Workshop, focused on technical and regulatory debate with industry representatives, researchers, regulatory agencies and different links in the chain; and the Executive Dinner, which brought together authorities and leaders to celebrate the sector's advances and strengthen institutional dialogue.

These initiatives have established themselves as strategic spaces for exchanging knowledge, strengthening networking and connecting the various agents in the bioinputs sector. In addition, open webinars were held focusing on biological technologies, the market and legislation, expanding the scope of discussions and the dissemination of qualified technical content. Research and Development (R&D) activities have also advanced, with three joint projects between associated companies already completed or underway.

Anpii Bio's next steps include holding events open to the general public, launching technical notebooks aimed at promoting biological technologies, and strengthening the entity's thematic committees. The Regulatory, Research and Development (R&D), Communication, and Market Intelligence committees will focus on expanding research development projects, stimulating innovation, strategically communicating biological solutions to the market, and supporting the development and improvement of regulations governing the sector in Brazil. The goal is to continue discussions within the industry, foster new collaborative projects, and actively contribute to consolidating a solid, safe, and innovation-friendly regulatory environment in the field of bioinputs.

Guilherme de Figueiredo, who was president of Anpii Bio for two terms, was honored during the AGM for his decisive role in consolidating the new phase of the entity. The transition and rotation of leadership follows the guidelines of the association's bylaws, which establish a limit of one reelection and require prior passage through the Advisory Board for the positions of president and vice president, with the aim of valuing accumulated experience and ensuring more qualified, participatory and representative governance.

As Figueiredo’s term comes to an end and a new term begins, Thiago Delgado emphasizes his commitment to continuing the work he has done. “Taking over the presidency of Anpii Bio is an honor and, at the same time, a great responsibility. We are talking about a sector that is revolutionizing agriculture and livestock farming, with Brazil as the leading country. Representing 49 companies at this time is a mission that demands commitment, technique and vision for the future,” says the new president of Anpii Bio.
