The ANP Board approved today (12/1) the amendment to ANP Resolution 802/2019. The objective is to include biodiesel commercialization operations between producers of this biofuel in the list of operations that generate ballast for issuing CBIO.
ANP Resolution 802 establishes the procedures for generating the necessary ballast for the primary issuance of Decarbonization Credits (CBIO), and brings in its annex a table containing the biofuel commercialization operations eligible for generating ballast for the issuance of CBIO.
At the time that ANP Resolution 802/2019 was published, the sale of biodiesel between producers of this biofuel was not authorized. Therefore, the operation had not been included in the list of operations eligible for generating CBIOs.
With the publication of ANP Resolution 857, in October 2021, during the reformulation of the biodiesel market, new rules for the commercialization of this product were established, authorizing the commercialization of biodiesel between producers.
Given the new scenario and the permission of this new type of biodiesel transaction, the amendment of ANP Resolution 802 becomes necessary to allow the generation of backing for the issuance of CBIOs when this type of commercialization occurs.
