Anfavea releases results for the first month of the year

The National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, Anfavea, released on Wednesday, 6, in São Paulo, SP, the results of the automobile industry for January. 

The data showed that 199,8 thousand units were sold in January this year, which represents growth of 10,2% compared to the same period last year, when 181,3 thousand vehicles were licensed. In comparison with the 234,5 thousand units sold in December 2018, there was a drop of 14,8%. 
 
For Antonio Megale, president of Anfavea, the January results were already expected by the industry. “We started the year with an important increase in all segments, which is very encouraging. In fact, this first month of the year was the best January since 2015. Despite having more working days compared to the last month of 2018, we already imagined that we would have this low due to market seasonality, since the end of the year is traditionally more heated".
 
Production continues on a growth trajectory: 196,8 thousand units were manufactured in January this year, a drop of 10% compared to the 218,7 thousand in January 2018. In the analysis with December with 177,5 thousand units, there was an increase of 10,9 .XNUMX%. 
 
Exports stood at 25,0 thousand units at the beginning of the year, a decrease of 46% compared to 46,4 thousand in the same period of 2018. Compared to 31,7 thousand in December last year, the sector registered a decrease of 21,1 %. 
 
Agricultural and road machinery
Sales of agricultural and road machinery in the first month of 2019 stood at 2,6 thousand units, a figure 40,1% lower than the 4,4 thousand in December last year and 64,5% higher when compared to 1,6 thousand January 2018.
 
Production stood at 2,8 thousand units in this first month of the year: growth of 3,5% compared to 2,7 thousand in January last year and a decrease of 49,2% in the analysis compared to the December result, which closed with 5,5 thousand units manufactured. 
 
In January, 693 units crossed the country's borders, a drop of 10,6% compared to the 775 in January 2018, and 21,6% compared to the 884 in December last year.
