The American company Albaugh started operating a new industrial unit in its Resende-RJ complex, on the 15th. The inauguration event was attended by the president of Albaugh in Brazil, Cesar Rojas and the industrial director Jorge José Jorge Neto, among other directors of the company. The official ceremony was attended by the mayor of Resende, Diogo Balieiro, the vice-mayor, Geraldo da Cunha and authorities from the environmental area of Resende, neighboring cities and the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The benefits transferred by the new Albaugh plant to the local community and agriculture were highlighted in the speech given by the State Secretary for the Environment of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Pampolha.

The opening of the factory, which already produces fungicides and insecticides with a concentrated suspension (SC) formulation, was also attended by environmental authorities working in neighboring cities, such as Volta Redonda, represented by the superintendent of the State Institute of the Environment (Inea), Oyama Bastos de Freitas. Among the guests, there were also members of the leadership of Amar – Resende Environmental Agency.

Growth and governance – As highlighted by the president of Albaugh Brasil, Cesar Rojas, the new investment in the expansion of the Resende complex is in line with the company's growth. Present in Brazil for just five years, Albaugh is already recognized as one of the strong brands in the agrochemical sector. According to Rojas, by producing concentrated suspension fungicides and insecticides, the company will expand market access and offer an even more robust and competitive portfolio of solutions to Brazilian agricultural producers.

Director Jorge Neto emphasized that the SC fungicide and insecticide factory required significant investments, in the purchase of equipment, allocation of technological resources and in the area of human resources. “We will have gains in production capacity, we will supply new agrochemical, high-technology products and we will advance in the strategic, continuous adoption of an environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) agenda”, reinforced Neto.

The Albaugh industrial complex also houses production units for copper or cupric-based fungicides – the company has the largest installed production capacity to distribute these products in Latin America – and herbicides. Albaugh serves, throughout the country, producers of citrus, coffee, sugar cane, corn, soybeans, wheat, beans and horticulture in general.
