In its fourth year of activities in the Brazilian post-patent agrochemicals market, Albaugh announces a new investment in the expansion of its commercial structure. The company informs that it hired agronomist Jaime Hurtado to lead the Regional Café Sales, already in operation, based in the city of Uberlândia (MG). Hurtado will coordinate the work of a team of agronomists present across the entire coffee agricultural frontier in the country.

The new regional, as the company's management highlights, is another strategic step to maintain the brand's continued growth. Last year, Albaugh also opened a Sugarcane Regional, concentrated in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte.

According to Albaugh's South Central commercial director, Renato Arantes, the American company already distributes a broad portfolio of products for coffee management in the Brazilian market, including fungicides, herbicides and insecticides, recommended for controlling the main diseases, plants invasives and pests of grain crops.

The brand's current portfolio, adds Arantes, brings together 10 high-quality post-patent products “and the company is expected to launch other items, which are in the registration phase, between this year and next”. “We foresee opportunities in the crop also through the market strength of Albaugh’s cupric fungicides”, notes the executive.

According to the director, the Albaugh unit in the state of Rio de Janeiro has the largest capacity in Latin America to produce copper agrochemicals, including the Recop fungicide, which according to the company is recognized for delivering excellent results in rust control, cercospora and other diseases that affect the coffee plantation.

“Coffee produced in Brazil requires rigorous technical management, to reach the high quality standards demanded by consumers of the drink in Brazil and abroad. Culture tends to become a new anchor for Albaugh’s business growth”, concludes Renato Arantes.

Currently, Albaugh's main trademarks registered for Brazilian coffee are Array, Recop and Simboll (fungicides); Compass, Greener, 2,4D, Shadow and Preciso (herbicides); Granary and Wild (insecticides).
