Albaugh enters the 2020 sugarcane harvest with a portfolio made up of nine inputs. According to the company's president for Brazil and Argentina, Cesar Rojas, Albaugh already has a representative portfolio of customers in the sugar-energy sector, served through cooperatives and partner resellers.

According to Rojas, Albaugh also plans to expand its portfolio of technologies for sugarcane plants and producers, as it obtains registrations for active ingredients that are under analysis by regulatory bodies. Starting in the second half of this year, adds the executive, the Albaugh line will have the addition of a new herbicide based on tebuthiuron, an active ingredient described as strategic for sugarcane management.

About two years ago, Albaugh reinforced its portfolio with the products Abone and Broker, both selective herbicides with pre-emergence and initial post-emergence action, respectively. Abone is based on the active ingredient Diuron, while Broker is based on Hexazinone, as explained by the company's Central-South commercial director, Renato Arantes. “The products are essential for controlling invasive plants, recommended for the humid and semi-humid periods of the crop”, he explains.

Arantes also recalls that the agricultural area currently accounts for almost half of the costs recorded in the sugar-energy sector, while Albaugh's value proposition is to reduce production costs and deliver a favorable cost-benefit ratio for the producer. . “Albaugh’s portfolio helps producers in the search for good cost management and also to obtain good quality raw material for grinding”, says Arantes.

In addition to Abone and Broker, the company's herbicide portfolio also consists of the brands Ultimato WG (Atrazine WG), Ridover (Glyphosate WG), Example® (2,4D), Preciso (Glyphosate WG), Shadow (Glyphosate) and Ultimato SC (Atrazine). Albaugh also sells the insecticide-acaricide Granary, based on Imidacloprid.

“We provide sugarcane producers with a line of post-patent agrochemicals with the same quality and efficiency as other referenced companies in the sector”, emphasizes Arantes. Also according to the executive, through its Sugarcane Regional, the company has a specialist sales force, focused on serving exclusively the agricultural frontier of the crop in the states of São Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte.
