The company AgroPro, from Ponta Grossa (PR), responsible for the AgroPro Monitor platform, received investment from M3 VC5, an investment vehicle managed by TM3 Capital, an investment manager based in Curitiba, specialized in technology companies.

The AgroPro Monitor platform is an intelligent tool that helps farmers in the sustainable control of pests and diseases, through monitoring, data analysis and decision-making, offered by agronomic intelligence based on proprietary algorithms.

"The tool allows rural producers to use pesticides to control pests rationally, strictly when necessary, and favors the use of new techniques, such as the use of biological products (or biodefensives), thus generating superior quality production, i.e. is, with low or even free chemical residuals. The reduction in the use of chemical pesticides through the application of AgroPro Monitor's agronomic intelligence in the field not only translates into gains for society and the environment, but also directly for the producer, who can reduce a large part of a considerable cost within production, the cost of chemical pesticides” says Vicente Furiatti, one of the company’s founders.

According to Vicente, receiving investment from an investor as discerning as TM3 is part of the objective of many companies. “The contribution received shows the maturity that the AgroPro Monitor solution has reached throughout its journey, as well as the attractiveness of its value proposition, solving real pain points for producers and Brazilian society. To reach the final round with an investment group of this size, you have to undergo a whole series of audits and go through a series of hearings,” he says.

“As technology developers, TM3’s contribution demonstrates that we are on the right path. It is also an investment in the people behind the company, which enhances the value and professionalism of the team”, he celebrates.

In addition to the financial capital received, one of the biggest gains for AgroPro is Smart Money added with the participation of professionals specialized in technology companies, with a solid investment history, with cases in Paraná itself, such as the successful investment in the Londrina company Veltec, sold in 2019 to the North American Trimble.

M3 VC5 is an investment vehicle for earlystage companies, managed by TM3 Capital, which emerged from the vision of Marcel Malczewski, co-founder of Bematech - a leading commercial automation equipment company in Brazil, which was sold to Totvs in 2015. “TM3 Capital is focused on investments in technology companies, prospecting differentiated solutions to solve real problems in sectors of the economy that are bottlenecks for the country's growth. There are several sectors that present great inefficiencies and will undergo intense use of technology”, comments Luís Amorim, manager of M3 VC5.
