Agro Plus, an agricultural technical assistance program led by the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (Abiove), expands its operations to São Paulo and Paraná. This movement marks the presence of the program in 12 Brazilian states, aiming to assist rural producers in adhering to environmental legislation, waste management, rural constructions, health and safety at work. The initiative, in partnership with the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), seeks to promote sustainable practices and improve the quality of life in the countryside.

Agro Plus, with 13 years of experience, offers a free service that includes diagnosis through a "check list" of more than 250 indicators, training of producers, distribution of teaching materials, courses, infrastructure adjustments and environmental regularization. The program has already benefited more than eight thousand producers in several states, emphasizing the importance of social, economic and environmental sustainability in the agricultural sector.

São Paulo and Paraná, new targets of the program, are key regions in Brazilian agricultural production, with emphasis on crops such as soybeans and sugar cane. Expansion to these states represents a significant step in promoting more sustainable agriculture and improving the living conditions of rural workers and local communities.

Abiove's Sustainability Director, Bernardo Pires, highlights the opportunity to engage Agro Plus in extension and research projects aimed at farmers, aiming to disseminate best practices and expand economic opportunities through the implementation of new management techniques and management.

The partnership with UFSCar, an institution with a strong academic base and around 10 thousand students and a thousand teachers, is strategic for the success of the program. The university, located in a region with significant preservation of the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, will contribute technical and scientific knowledge, reinforcing Agro Plus' commitment to sustainability and innovation in the agricultural sector.
