The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) announces, at 17pm, this Wednesday (9), through the Agro+ Plan, the edition of normative instructions with the Specific Technical Standards (NTE) for another 13 agricultural crops. With this, farmers will be able to voluntarily join the NTE, starting to cultivate in accordance with Integrated Agricultural Production (PI Brasil), aimed at sustainability. Minister Blairo Maggi and executive secretary Eumar Novacki will participate in the ceremony, in the CNPA room (ground floor).
The announcement of Specific Technical Standards for rice, wheat, grapes for processing, peanuts, beans, flowers and ornamental plants, tunated table tomatoes, ginger, yams, taro, soursop, atemoya and custard apple also marks the expansion of Agro+. Launched by Mapa in August this year to reduce bureaucracy, modernize and simplify rules and procedures related to agribusiness, the plan also now focuses on sustainability actions, one of minister Blairo Maggi's concerns.
Integrated Agricultural Production provides for the adoption of good production practices, integrated pest management and reduction of agrochemicals, among other measures, to offer safer, high-quality food to the domestic and foreign markets. Farmers who comply with all standards can also certify their producers and use the Brazil Certified seal.
Today, there are already Specific Technical Standards for pineapple, banana, potato, citrus (orange, lime and tangerine), coffee, persimmon, cashew, coconut, fig, guava, apple, papaya, mango, passion fruit, melon, peach, tobacco and grape of table.
