Abinbio: industry mobilized to regulate 'on farm' biological production
“On farm” production has become popular with many farmers; however, both the bioinput industry and researchers have raised questions about the quality of the homemade product
On June 18th and 19th, the research company Desafios Agro and its partners will promote a series of lectures and debates that will address, for the first time in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), the topic “Biological products for agricultural use”. The unprecedented event takes place at Acrissul's facilities, in Campo Grande.
During the meeting, renowned Brazilian experts in this area of knowledge will be present, who will address issues relevant to the biological assets sector. The event is aimed at rural producers, consultants, technicians, researchers, teachers, academics and companies in the agricultural sector.
Panel 1: Life in the Soil - speakers Arthur Gomes (CropLife) and Tulio Gonçalo (Grower) will present the topic of using crops for soil cover. The objective is to show producers and consultants how necessary it is to structure the soil for the use of biological agents, especially those that will be applied to combat diseases in seeds, roots and nematodes. All relevant legislation for the registration of bioinsecticide, bionematicicide, biofungicide, biostimulant and biofertilizer products will also be addressed.
Panel 2: Soil and Plant Nutrition - Éder de Souza Martins and Christiane Abreu de Oliveira Paiva (Embrapa) will address the use of remineralizers and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and inoculants. Producers and consultants will have the opportunity to learn about the use of regional alternatives such as rock dust and the use of natural bacteria (bacillus) that will promote the availability of phosphorus for crops used in agriculture, taking advantage of the natural resources existing in Brazilian soil.
Panel 3: Soil and Root Pathogens - panelists Simone Santana Gomes (Araucária Soluções Agronômicas) and Thays Benites Camargo Pereira (Desafios Agro) will present bionematicidal products to combat nematodes, pests that directly attack the root system, compromising the development of crops economically exploited by rural producers.
Panel 4: Insect Control - Paulo Adami (UTFPR) and Germison Vital Tomquelski (Desafios Agro) will present bioinsecticides for the management and control of insects in the main crops economically exploited by Brazilian producers, especially soybeans, corn, cotton and pastures.
Panel 5: Seed, Soil and Root Pathogens - in this panel, speakers Sérgio Miguel Mazaro (UTFPR) and João Paulo Ascari (Fundação MT) will address the use of biofungicides for the management of diseases that occur in soybean, corn, cotton and bean crops, tools will be presented to compose the management integrated disease management.
For Edson Pereira Borges, Agricultural Engineer founder and CEO of Desafios Agro, the advancement of knowledge and information is never too much, being a key element for the success of crops. He also highlights that the moment is unique for the agro segment in all regions of Brazil, mainly linked to the 35% annual growth in the use of biologicals in Brazilian crops.
