technical coordinator of the Aquarius Project, an initiative that transformed
Don't Touch Me in the National Capital of Precision Agriculture, was
immortalized today on the Agro Walk of Fame at Expodireto Cotrijal 2022.

professor Telmo Amado was the 22nd honored in the space created in 2019 and
which aims to highlight political leaders, entities,
researchers, entrepreneurs and consultants who make agribusiness the
sector that supports the Brazilian economy. “With great honor that
we chose this name and today we are honoring Telmo, who did a lot,
does a lot and will do a lot for Brazilian agribusiness”, highlighted the
president of Expodireto Cotrijal, Nei César Manica.

who has been project coordinator since 2004, said that the tribute
demonstrates Cotrijal's commitment to technology and
development. He highlighted that he was very proud of the honor,
considered the highest point of a research career. "A
precision agriculture found the right place in Cotrijal to
generate, flourish and produce fruits that are very important for agribusiness
Brazilian".
A
proposal of the Aquarius project is to validate the agriculture technology of
precision as a modern and effective management tool
Rural property. Cotrijal joined the project in 2005.

professor Telmo Amado has a degree in Agronomy from UFSM (1982),
Master's degree from UFRGS (1985), PhD in Soil Science from UFRGS
(1997) and Auburn University-USA (1997) and post-doctorate at Kansas
State University (KSU), USA (2008). He is currently a full professor at
UFSM and adjunct professor at KSU. He has experience in the area of Management and
Soil Conservation, working on the following themes: direct planting,
nitrogen, organic matter, cover crop, carbon balance and
precision agriculture.
