A Agritechnica, the world's leading agricultural machinery fair, will be held again in November, after four years, in the city of Hanover, Germany. The last edition of the event was in 2019 and, therefore, there is great expectation regarding the technologies and innovations that will be presented. Brazil, as one of the main food producers in the world, has a strong presence at the event, with two pavilions of Brazilian companies in this edition.

Among the confirmed exhibitors are the National Union of the Automotive Components Industry (Sindipeças), which will be in a collective pavilion with its members exhibiting their products for export. And the Brazilian Machinery Association (Abimaq), which should bring the main news in agricultural machinery produced in Brazil.

"The agricultural machinery and equipment sector has had the support of the Brazil Machinery Solutions project, the result of the partnership between Abimaq and ApexBrasil, for participation in the Agritechnica fair. This is a key event for our industry, a showcase of the main brands and technologies applied in the agribusiness chain. Brazilian participation aims to present to the world what is most innovative in the sector, being manufactured by the national industry”, highlights Patrícia Gomes, executive director of foreign markets at Abimaq.

Among Brazilian companies, Metisa (Metalúrgica Timboense) is one of the veterans, participating in Agritechnica for over 20 years. The relationship between Agritechnica and Brazil goes back a long way. The event, as well as other fairs held by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), has been regularly presented at Brazilian agricultural events over the last 15 years. “Brazilian farmers and producers are incredibly popular among exhibitors in Germany for their approach to large-scale agriculture and investment mentality focused on results,” says Sandra Willer, area manager for South America at DLG.

With more than 2 South American visitors in the last edition, Agritechnica is an opportunity for both professionals in the machinery and equipment industry, as well as producers and managers. With the fair's global reach, exhibitors can reach large producers and buyers around the world, such as Kazakhstan, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, for example.

“The spaces for Brazilian exhibitors at Agritechnica remain open and a new round of registrations is scheduled for June, if there are still vacancies”, explains Brena Bäumle, director of Bäumle Organización de Feiras, official representative of DLG for Brazil. And the country is one of the exponents in world food production and, last year, it registered a record in agribusiness exports, with growth of 32%, according to the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services.

The strength of agriculture is also visible in the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the most recent report from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea) and the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA), the sector was responsible for 27% of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2021 and the expectation is that has closed 2022 accounting for 25% of GDP.

Sustainability

“The main theme of this edition of Agritechnica is ‘green productivity’, focusing on the challenges of modern agriculture and sustainability in the countryside”, adds Brena Bäumle. The event is promoted by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and brings together the world's leading agricultural technology companies, with more than 2 exhibitors from 52 countries confirmed so far.

Agritechnica will take place between 12th and 18th November and will feature a program of live events, demonstration shows and a new series of 'Expert Stages', exploring topics such as smart spraying, remote sensing, connectivity, autonomous agricultural equipment and alternative farming systems. powertrain, as well as solutions to achieve greater efficiency and save resources in the field such as tires, ballasts and assistance systems.

"Agritechnica offers the most comprehensive and varied fair program for international agricultural crops: from crop protection sprayers to drones, from tractors to autonomous equipment systems, from harvesters to digital assistance systems. The exhibition presents not only established standards and applicable innovations for agricultural practitioners, but also visions for efficient and sustainable agriculture around the world", informs Timo Zipf, project manager at Agritechnica.

Agritechnica's partner events are Systems & Components, the B2B marketplace for the international supplier industry in the agricultural and off-highway machinery sector; the "Inhouse Farming - Feed & Food Show", the new DLG platform for the agricultural and food systems of the future, with strong ties to agricultural professionals.
