Agristar do Brasil brings, year after year, several new material options to producers in the horticulture sector. For 2019, 13 varieties will be launched by the professional lines Topseed Premium and Superseed during the Open Field Day and the 26th Hortitec, which will take place simultaneously, on the 26th and 28th of June.
In addition to visiting the company's stands at the fair, in Holambra (SP), visitors will also have the opportunity to see new developments in the field, in greenhouses or in hydroponics during the field day promoted at the company's Experimental Station in Santo Antônio de Posse (SP), where technicians from all over Brazil will be available to talk about the characteristics of the materials, the best management and positioning for each region of the country.
Open Field Day and Hortitec are 8 km apart and there will be free transport leaving directly from the fair's parking lot. According to Marcos Vieira, Marketing Manager at Agristar do Brasil, the company's objective is for the events to complement each other and for participants to have a broad experience, being served by the Topseed Premium and Superseed commercial teams at their respective stands at Hortitec and witnessing the materials, with the possibility of asking questions and exchanging information with experts during the Open Field Day.
“Agristar is recognized in the market for the quality of its seeds and its highly technical team committed to rural producers. This trust from the farmer and our commercial partners motivates us to continue advancing in research and development work to always meet market expectations”, adds Marcos.
The new products that will be presented to the market are the result of the work of the company's Research & Development Department, which carries out thousands of screenings annually to select the materials that best suit the Brazilian climate and soil. All this with the support of experimental stations located in the states of São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Norte and Minas Gerais, strategic cultivation regions in Brazil.
Through the Topseed Premium line, 11 new materials will be launched this year. They are: Samira curly lettuce, Veloster arugula, Firenze F1 eggplant, Akira F1 Chinese cabbage, Rochedo, Riverside and Brutus hybrid watermelons, Iguazu F1 peppers, Excalibur F1 onion, Guerrero F1 cucumber and Robledo F1 melon; and completing the Superseed portfolio are the tomato cultivars Dynamo F1 and the Chinese cabbage Katsu F1.
The Coordinator of the Experimental Station and agronomist, Everton Ichikawa, says that the field has been prepared since December last year, when samples were collected for soil analysis. “We have been organizing and taking care of everything for the visitors who will be at Open Field Day for months. We will have more than 190 varieties, including commercial, pre-commercial and testing products, in almost 8.820 m² of open field crops and around 1.700 m² of greenhouses, one being cocktail tomatoes (mini tomatoes) and cucumbers (Japanese, rootstock and industry), one for peppers and the other for hydroponics (hardwoods). Everything is done with great attention so that the producer can see the crops of interest in real growing conditions”, explains Everton.
