Starting this Tuesday (10/05), the AgriHub Institute launches another call for startups to participate in the open innovation program. Agtechs that have technological solutions for the agricultural chain in Mato Grosso can guarantee their registrations this site until May 29st.
This is the second Open Call promoted by the Institute. In 2021, the so-called Seed Innovation was aimed at agtechs with solutions for the seed chain. This time, the objective is to bring technological solutions to agriculture based on the challenges and needs of AgriHub Space partner companies: Amaggi, Bayer and TMG.
“In addition to the seeds theme, in this open innovation program we want to bring solutions aimed at managing soil fertility, applying technologies for sustainability, traceability of the production chain, industrial automation and carbon measurement. Each AgriHub partner company brought their specific demands according to their processes and strategies and this means that agtechs have more opportunities to generate business”, explains the director of the AgriHub Institute, Otávio Celidonio.
Startups that are interested in participating in the development of these solutions or adapting those that already exist on the market will participate in a selection process over the next few months. After the registration period (10/05 to 29/05), the next steps will take place in June, they are: announcement of the classifieds for Pitch Day (03/06), Pich Day presentation (17/06) and announcement of the results (30/06).
The initiative has the support of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Mato Grosso (Famato) - an entity of which the AgriHub Institute is part - and the Association of Seed Producers of Mato Grosso (Aprosmat).
Agtechs that participate in the program will have access to the AgriHub Space partner network such as Amaggi, Bayer and TMG. Furthermore, according to Celidonio, it is an opportunity to interact with rural producers who are part of the Institute's ALFA farm network and to access mentoring with experts who follow the agricultural innovation scenario.
Startups from other cities will have coworking space available with all the structure for the work team to develop the project at AgriHub Space, which is located within the Famato System, in Cuiabá-MT.
This week (May 10th to 13th), representatives from the AgriHub Institute are in São Paulo to participate in several events and make strategic visits. The program includes the presentation of this call for startups with solutions for agriculture during an event at LifeHub SP, Bayer's first open innovation center in Latin America.
Among the participants in the program are AgriHub Space partner companies, rural producers and startups, to talk about the opportunities, challenges of agriculture and the importance of open innovation. According to the leader of Open Innovation in Bayer's agricultural division, Dirceu Ferreira Júnior, the partnership between Bayer and AgriHub is renewed with the launch of another call.
"LifeHub SP is a space to promote partnerships and exchange ideas to foster innovation and the event becomes even more relevant as it integrates executive leadership, customers, startups and partners and is the first in-person event, with an external audience, to be carried out since its inauguration, which took place during the restrictive period of the Covid-19 pandemic. For Bayer, the challenge strengthens one of the company's main strategic pillars, innovation”, he says.
