The city of São Paulo will become the capital of technological solutions aimed at agribusiness, on the 12th and 13th of March, with AgriFutura, an event that will be held and organized by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo and the Agência Paulista de Agribusiness Technology (APTA), at the Biological Institute (IB), in the capital of São Paulo. The event will have the participation of the six Institutes and APTA Regional and will have the support of the Agribusiness Research Development Foundation (FUNDEPAG).
During the two days, the most recent and efficient sustainable solutions for the agribusiness of the future will be presented, where the public will be able to see up close the most modern solutions developed to strengthen and grow the sector, through exhibition, competition and demonstration of developed products by startups, in addition to other initiatives.
AgriFutura Forum
Among the event's attractions is the AgriFutura Forum, a conference that will present existing sustainable solutions and actions and new opportunities, identified by APTA's Technological Innovation Center (NITs) and worked on by Research Institutes, positioning Brazilian Agro in the Objectives of Sustainable Development (SDG0 of the UN 2030 agenda.
“The SDGs are instruments promoted by the UN to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people have peace and prosperity. There are 17 objectives that produce a set of environmental, political and economic goals and challenges. In this scenario, APTA organizes, promotes and executes its projects immersed in attention to the SDGs and the contribution of agricultural research in São Paulo and Brazil to global sustainability challenges”, explains the director of IB and manager of the APTA Agribusiness Innovation Laboratory, Ana Eugênia de Carvalho Campos.
In this context, the Forum will present, on the morning of the first day, projects and activities developed by the Agency's Centers in synergy with some of the UN Objectives, such as SDG 02 – Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture, for example.
Special arena for agtechs
The event will have a special focus on solutions developed by agro startups, the so-called agtechs, which move the sector and dictate new technological trends. In order to give visibility to its proposals, the festival will have a space dedicated to the presentation and exhibition of these innovations, with stands during both days.
AgriFutura also promotes a competition in which agtechs will have a space in the program to present their projects, ideas and products, in pitch format, to a judging panel, which will include the participation of different agricultural representatives, as well as an investor.
Interested startups can register their solutions on the event website. A group of representatives from the NITs will make the selection and invite company representatives to present their project on the event days.
In addition, AgriFutura also promotes tasting activities of Agro Paulista products and musical attractions.
The first edition of the event, held in 2018, brought together around 2,5 people, including students, rural producers, entrepreneurs and professionals in the field. “In this second edition we will have a festival of news and technologies with the aim of bringing sustainable solutions to the agribusiness of the future, increasing the visibility of the innovation ecosystem that the state of São Paulo has provided to agriculture as a whole”, concludes Ana Eugênia.
