The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (Seapdr) continues to monitor the locust outbreak in the northwest of the state. The teams continue to carry out surveys at the outbreak sites, mainly assessing potential damage to crops.

According to the head of Seapdr's Plant Health Defense Division, Ricardo Felicetti, since November 30th, daily surveys have been carried out to determine the infestation situation. “An overflight was even carried out in order to estimate the impacts on the native forest and adjacent crops. With the rains in the region, there was a decrease in the mobility of locusts. The situation requires constant monitoring”, he warns.
