The Committee on Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development (CAPADR), of the Chamber of Deputies, approved this Wednesday (15), a request from deputies José Mário Schreiner (DEM-GO), Pedro Lupion (DEM-PR) and signed by the majority of parliamentarians who are members of the Commission, to hold a public hearing to debate the proposals for the 2019/2020 Harvest Plan. The debate is scheduled for May 28th, at 14 pm.

“You can’t build a Harvest Plan inside an office and air conditioning. Listening to entities representing the Brazilian agricultural sector is extremely important so that we can bring the main concerns of rural producers to the government”, defended the deputy, during a deliberative meeting of CAPADR.

Proposals

Last Wednesday, May 8, José Mário delivered the proposals raised by the Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) to the president of the Agriculture Commission, Fausto Pinato (PP/SP), and to the president of the Policy Commission Agricultural member of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture (FPA), deputy Pedro Lupion (DEM/PR).

The document was prepared in regional meetings with producers and rural leaders across the country and was delivered to the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina. The set of proposals addresses the most urgent demands of the agricultural sector, such as ensuring budget predictability, reducing bureaucracy, improving existing programs, increasing volume and making resources available at a time compatible with the activity calendar, in addition to alternative sources of credit and reduction in interest rates.
