Variable weather conditions make it difficult to plant wheat in Rio Grande do Sul
In some regions, frequent rains have delayed sowing; in others, high humidity has delayed the emergence and development of crops
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) published today Ordinance No. 303, which makes the planting dates of the Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc) compatible with soybean crops, crop year 2024/2025, in the states of Rio de Janeiro , Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Maranhão, Piauí, Acre, Pará, Rondônia, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and the Federal District.
This adaptation aimed to make the periods indicated in Zarc compatible with the periods of sanitary void and soybean sowing calendar at national level, established by Ordinance SDA/Mapa nº 1.111, of May 13, 2024.
The sowing calendar considers phytosanitary parameters and is part of the strategy for managing Asian Soybean Rust. Zarc indicates the best planting time, with the aim of minimizing the chances of losses due to adverse weather conditions.
Rural producers benefiting from the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) or the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR) must respect both the sowing dates established by the SDA, by state, and Zarc, by municipality, always complying with the standard to be included in risk management programs.
Consultations can be made through the “Risk Indication Panel” platform or through the Zarc Plantio Certo mobile application, available in the app stores: iOS and Android.
