The projected growth in Pará's Gross Production Value (GVP) for this year, compared to the previous year, is 16,85%, driven by the significant performance of crops and livestock. With this result, Pará consolidates its leadership in the North region. The state's GVP could reach R$45,12 billion by the end of the year, with R$26,48 billion coming from crops and R$18,65 billion from livestock.
The economic indicator reflects the performance of crops (permanent and temporary) and livestock throughout the year. The survey conducted by the State Secretariat for Agricultural and Fisheries Development (Sedap) is based on data estimated through the first six months of this year.
In livestock farming, cattle farming stands out as the main activity, representing 91,28% of the sector's Gross Production Value, with an estimated value of R$17,02 billion. Next in this group are chicken (R$982,61 million), milk (R$443,04 million), and eggs (R$200,58 million).
The study is being developed by the Sedap Planning Center through the Statistics Department. The goal is to provide government management in the agricultural sector with strategic information for action planning, as well as to keep interested sectors informed, said statistician Ulisses Silva Barata, responsible for preparing the agricultural forecast.
The projections for 2025 reinforce Pará's strategic role in the Brazilian agricultural landscape, highlighting its performance in the North region. "These results reflect not only the dynamism of Pará's agricultural sector but also its growing relevance for regional and national development. The data presented in this bulletin support public policy formulation, strategic planning, and trend monitoring, contributing to more assertive and sustainable decisions by the government, the production sector, and other stakeholders," concluded Nuplan coordinator Maria de Lourdes Minssen.
