Epamig discusses banana plantation nutrition in online event
Online event, which takes place on October 21st, will have the theme "Nutritional Assessment of Banana Plants"
Published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Wednesday (20/10) the ordinances, from 481 to 488, of Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc) for the cultivation of rainfed and irrigated barley. Rainfed cultivation is recommended for São Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The cultivation of barley in an irrigated system is recommended for the Federal District, Goiás, Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
Zoning aims to reduce risks related to climate problems and allows producers to identify the best time to plant, taking into account the region of the country, the culture and different types of soil.
The agrometeorological model considers elements that directly influence the development of agricultural production such as temperature, rainfall, relative air humidity, water available in the soil, crop water demand and geographic elements (altitude, latitude and longitude).
Barley production (Hordeum vulgare L.) for brewing purposes is influenced by the climate, the genetic characteristics of the cultivar and the crop management practices adopted.
In Zarc's studies for barley production in the rainfed system, the risks for the incidence of frost in the tenth year of heading and the analysis of the risk of water deficiency according to the type of soil were evaluated, considering the critical phases of crop establishment in the field (phase I) and during grain filling (phase III). The environments considered suitable for growing barley for brewing use in irrigated systems were defined by the contours of the crop's growing season, characterized by absence or little rain, without disregarding the risk of frost.
Farmers who follow Zarc's recommendations are less subject to climate risks and can still benefit from the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Program (Proagro) and the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR). Many financial agents only release rural credit for crops in zoned areas.
Rural producers and other agribusiness agents can access Zarc's official information via tablets and smartphones, in a more practical way, facilitating guidance regarding the Federal Government's agricultural policy programs. The Zarc Plantio Certo mobile application, developed by Embrapa Informática Agropecuária (Campinas/SP), is available in application stores: iOS e Android.
Zarc results can also be consulted and downloaded through the platform “Risk Indication Panel”.
