Agrichem, one of the Brazilian companies in plant nutrition, launches its new nutritional technology to the market. In the face of various injuries affecting soybean crops, the solution was specially designed to reduce damage from “yellow flashing”, a phenomenon caused by the application of glyphosate in crops resistant to the herbicide.
The “yellow flashing” is the result of an inhibition of the Manganese metabolic pathway and the plant's difficulty in absorbing it from the soil. The technology developed by Agrichem will provide a highly available amount of Manganese for the plant, in addition to enabling the activation of detoxification mechanisms in the soybean itself, through the production of key enzymes in the metabolization of superoxides and the recomposition of the chemical acid pathway, metabolic target of glyphosate.
“There have been 7 years of research seeking the balance between the supply of manganese and the activation of stress metabolism in soybeans. We conducted hundreds of field experiments in the main producing regions, proving the product's effect on reducing damage caused by glyphosate”, explains Felipe Pozzan, the company's technical development manager.
The launch of the solution comes at a time of expansion for Agrichem, with the inauguration of a new unit that will house the administrative headquarters and logistics center, located in Ribeirão Preto, which aims to gain operational efficiency, such as the centralization of stocks, the expansion of shipping capacity, strengthening internal processes and increasing the security of the company's operations.
“The migration to a centralized headquarters allows for greater integration between the company's functional areas, in addition to encouraging teamwork” explains Silvio Santos, president of Agrichem do Brasil. “We seek to further consolidate our performance in the sector as one of the leading companies in the nutrition sector, truly becoming a partner for the farmer who feeds every detail and seeks efficient nutrition management”, highlights the executive.
The change is the result of Agrichem's consistent growth since its establishment in Brazil in 2000: the company has doubled in size in the last five years operating in the country. In addition to the expansion of physical space, modernizations were implemented in order to accommodate new levels of dynamism of the company, which grew an average of 17% in the last 5 years and increased the number of employees by 20% in the same period.
In line with its expansion and modernization project, Agrichem intends, in the coming years, to increase investments in research, improve operational efficiency for distributors, suppliers and farmers and the Nutrition Program (PAMnutri), a project that the company developed for farmers who seek to increase the productivity of export crops.
