Agribusiness in Rio Grande do Sul records a 41% increase in March export values

Jump was from US$ 803 million to US$ 1,1 billion compared to the same period last year

Agribusiness exports from Rio Grande do Sul recorded a 41% increase in the value sold in the comparison between March 2021 and the same period in 2022. The increase was from US$803 million to US$1,1 billion. In volume, the growth was from 1,3 million tons to 1,6 million tons. Compared to February 2022, there was a 14% increase in value and a 10% drop in volume. The data was released by Farsul's Economic Advisory this Wednesday, March 13th.

Among the products exported, some have high representation. They are Meat, Cereals, Soy Complex, Tobacco and Forestry Products. Together, they represent 86% of the value and 96% of the volume sold by the sector in the last month.

Exports to Asia (not counting the Middle East) totaled US$451 million and 630 thousand tons. The numbers demonstrate that there are important markets on the continent even with China's large participation. Europe reached US$241 million, of which US$207 million went to the European Union. Next comes the Middle East, with US$ 128 million, followed by Africa (US$ 123 million), South America (US$ 88 million), North America (US$ 86 million), with US$ 36 million exported to countries from Mercosur, Central America and the Caribbean with US$10 million and Oceania with US$1,9 million.

As for countries, China appears in first place with US$ 157 million and a share of 13,9% in value. In second place is Saudi Arabia with 6,52% of the value, followed by Indonesia with 6,49% of the value, India with 6,2%, the United States with 5,3%, Vietnam with 5,1%, Spain with 3,76 .3,46%, Belgium with 3,36%, the Netherlands with 2,59% and Morocco with XNUMX%.

In relation to imports, the group Fertilizers (fertilizers) and their ingredients went from US$ 67 million in March 2021 to US$ 193 million in the same month in 2022. In terms of volume, it went from 256 thousand tons to 193 thousand tons. This represents an increase of 184% in value and -25% in the imported volume of fertilizers. Compared to February 2022, there was an increase of 101% in value and 28% in volume.
