How and when to apply fungicides to sugarcane
How and when to use fungicides and the best technology in sugarcane can result in productivity gains and economic returns
AAgribusiness companies that were not yet operating in the digital environment were economically forced to accelerate this change due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the segments that illustrates this transformation is by-products/co-products, residues and leftovers from agribusiness, exemplified in items such as soybean and sunflower bran, cottonseed, citrus pulp, chicken feathers, sugarcane bagasse, rice and rice husks. coffee, beef tallow, meat and bone meal, hop residue, pork grease, fish leather, corn DDG, among many others.
These by-products/co-products are basic raw materials for various industries, such as animal nutrition, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, etc., hence their high economic and environmental relevance, because when reused they promote practice the functioning of the circular economy concept.
Specialized in the commercialization and monetization of agribusiness by-products/co-products, Agro2Business – www.agro2business.com -, began to detect a strong increase in registrations and operations on its platform while restrictive social distancing measures began to be implemented.
“The disruption to the advancement of digitalization promoted by the new coronavirus showed that the conventional, offline marketing of agribusiness by-products/co-products was outdated, being limited, based on local contacts, telephone searches and random searches on the internet”, says Thiago Mateus, founder of Agro2Business.
In this sense, says the executive, we began to observe a strong increase in access, with buyers and sellers seeing the advantages of digital marketing through geolocation and user ranking tools. “The online environment expands connections, expanding business and monetization opportunities, in addition to bringing with it a high degree of trust for transactions”, highlights Mateus, who adds: “we work with the protected negotiation functionality, which ensures payment for the seller and the veracity of the product for the buyer”.
Registration at Agro2Business for both sellers and buyers is free. Only when an operation is completed is there a small brokerage fee, which is deducted from the seller.
Another movement identified during this period, highlights Mateus, was the search for animal health and nutrition companies, as well as seeds, to sell their respective products on the platform. “As these manufacturers operate on Agro2Business when purchasing raw materials, they also started to use the platform to sell their products, with a focus on cost reduction and economies of scale. In this way, we begin to function as a digital marketing hub for these production chains.” The executive adds that the objective is to expand this activity to other segments, such as pesticides, fertilizers, agricultural machinery and implements, veterinary products for farm animals, and so on.
