The Institute of Management, Planning and Development of Viticulture of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Consevitis-RS) signed an agreement with Sebrae Nacional for the execution of the sectoral project "Strengthening of Brazilian Viticulture". With an investment of over R$ 2,4 million, of which R$ 1.687.547,00 was contributed by Sebrae and R$ 750.000,00 by Consevitis-RS, the partnership begins in October 2024 and continues until December 2025, with the main objective of increasing the per capita consumption of national wines and sparkling wines, promoting the appreciation and highlighting the quality of these products in the domestic market.
The project aims to strengthen the entire production chain of the Brazilian wine sector, encompassing individual microentrepreneurs (MEI), microenterprises (ME), small businesses (EPP), as well as medium and large wineries, grape producers, commercial agents, specialists and interested parties. The actions will be concentrated in seven priority states: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Bahia, with a focus on the main grape producing and wine tourism regions of the country.
The project's central strategy is focused on expanding consumer markets, improving production, encouraging the formalization of small producers and promoting Brazilian wine regions. In addition, the project aims to provide market intelligence to assist those involved in the decision-making process.
“This agreement with Sebrae Nacional represents an important step towards strengthening the country’s wine industry. We believe that by valuing the quality of our wines and sparkling wines, we can boost both domestic consumption and entrepreneurship among small producers. We are determined to increase the positive perception of Brazilian wines. Our goal is to guide and support the entire production chain, ensuring that each winemaker and winery can grow and stand out in the market,” emphasizes the president of Consevitis-RS, Luciano Rebellatto (pictured, left).
For the manager of the Competitiveness Unit at Sebrae Nacional, Fábio Krieger (pictured, on the right), “the partnership with Consevitis-RS represents a major step towards strengthening winemaking in different regions of the country, increasing the competitiveness of small rural businesses and meeting the requirements for access to the market for national wines in a strategic and sustainable manner”.
