The AGCO Agriculture Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to preventing and combating hunger through sustainable agricultural development, is now accepting applications for its grant program. In this Call for Grants (CAG), the Foundation is focusing primarily on funding requests that support the next generation of leaders in agriculture by helping them develop innovative solutions for agri-food systems.

The Foundation invites registered non-profit organizations recognized as charitable entities under the legislation to apply for funding by submitting a grant proposal for amounts between US$400.000 and US$450.000, to be distributed over three years of the project.

“As we continue to contribute to sustainable food systems, we need to encourage young innovators to get involved in agriculture,” said Roger Batkin (pictured above), Chairman of the Foundation’s Board. “By working with nonprofit partners to establish youth-focused agritech programs, we hope to support and educate young people who can help develop future-proof solutions for regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, and technological innovations applicable to diverse agricultural ecosystems.”

Aligned with AGCO’s purpose of delivering farmer-centric solutions to sustainably feed the world and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Foundation recognizes the critical role of young people in transforming and sustaining agri-food systems and the wide range of opportunities the agri-food sector offers to improve youth employment and livelihoods.

Through its community investment software partner, Benevity, the Foundation’s grant application platform will be available from October 1 to November 29, 2024.

Grant proposals from eligible NGOs must target young innovators (including startups), young farmers, and small and medium-sized enterprises, with a focus on developing agri-food systems for youth. The Foundation recommends that all NGOs carefully review all CAG 2024 materials before preparing and submitting an application.

Registration deadline

The deadline for submission of applications for CAG 2024 is November 29, 2024, at 17:XNUMX p.m. EST. Please review the eligibility requirements before applying for this grant. The Foundation will only evaluate applications that meet the CAG eligibility requirements, follow the thematic focus, and submit all required supporting documents as outlined in the terms of reference.
