After records in 2020, volume and revenue from agricultural exports remain high in 2021

After reaching records in volume and revenue in 2020, Brazilian agribusiness exports continue at an intense pace in 2021. Even in this period of great uncertainty, the sector has been demonstrating its strength and importance for the Brazilian economy. 

Research by Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics), Esalq/USP, carried out based on data from Secex, shows that, from January to April 2021, the volume exported by national agribusiness grew 6% compared to the same period in last year. As for revenue, it reached US$36 billion in the first four months of this year, an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2020. As a result, from January to April, agribusiness exports represented 51% of total Brazilian foreign sales.
