From today onwards we will be present in the Cultivar Group, with exclusive content, developed by the Mosaic Fertilizandos team of experts.
To launch this partnership, one of our experts, Thiago Sylvestre, brought up a subject that is rarely discussed when purchasing fertilizers.

Why invest in quality fertilizer?

We need to remember the importance of the “QUALITY” aspect in fertilizers.

Have you ever stopped to think about whether your fertilizer contains excess powder, different sized granules and filler?

Even with so many technologies to recommend, and generating the most assertive agronomic prescription, we still forget about the “Fertilizer Quality” aspect, running the risk of this recommendation not reaching the plant.

Products with excess fines (powder) directly impact the quality of application, interfering with the proper regulation of the distribution equipment. This can occur when the fertilizer powder, in contact with moisture, forms a rigid paste that adheres to the “worm screw” causing the fertilizer flow to clog, compromising the dose of product applied.

The non-uniformity in the size of the granules does not allow for good adjustment of the equipment, that is, after application, your fertilizer will not be well distributed. When there are uneven granule sizes and excess “powder”, the density of the product varies and, therefore, the applied doses of nutrients will also vary.

Another very common point is the use of filler (filler) to close formulas, adding increasingly more concentrated raw materials, which results in a smaller quantity and variety of nutrients applied within the areas.

Therefore, in every fertilizer negotiation, don’t forget to ask yourself:

1- Does this fertilizer have excess dust?

2- What is the size of the granules in this formulation?

3- Are you adding filler to close the formula?

We must seek balanced nutrition, through a balance between nutrients, so that plants can express their maximum productive potential, using fertilizers that have real quality.
