ADM announced the appointment of Carrie Nichol as vice president and chief accounting officer. She will assume the role effective March 1 and will be responsible for the company’s accounting and reporting processes, as well as internal control, insurance and risk management.
Nichol will report to Monish Patolawala, ADM's executive vice president and chief financial officer.
The new director will replace Molly Strader Fruit, who will serve as vice president of total rewards and human resources operations. Strader Fruit will remain with ADM and assist with the transition before assuming her new role, where she will report directly to chief human resources officer Jennifer Weber.
Monish Patolawala highlighted Nichol's experience in corporate finance and accounting as a deciding factor in his appointment.
“Carrie’s depth of knowledge and proven track record make her an excellent addition to our finance and leadership team,” he said. He also highlighted ADM’s confidence in Nichol’s ability to lead the company’s accounting function and support the company’s strategic priorities.
Carrie Nichol has over 20 years of experience in the finance and accounting industry. Prior to joining ADM, she served as senior vice president, chief accounting officer and global process leader at Cargill, one of the world’s largest agribusiness companies.
At Cargill, he was responsible for accounting operations, including technical and corporate accounting, internal controls, and global financial services. He also led the company’s global capability centers and the finance process, data, and technology teams.
Prior to Cargill, Nichol worked at Zimmer Biomet, where she was vice president, controller and chief accounting officer. She began her career at KPMG LLP, an audit and consulting firm.
She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Widener University and an MBA in finance from Villanova University. She is also a certified public accountant.
