Seeking to improve the visibility of its members, APROSESC (Association of Seed and Seedling Producers of the State of Santa Catarina) launched, in 2018, the “Vigor + Semente de Santa Catarina Superior Quality” seal.

In 2019, with the “Eu Uso Semente de Santa Catarina” campaign, the objective is to disseminate the positive results obtained by customers who used the seal, and expand its support among seed producers associated with the entity.

Initially, four companies joined the seal. For this year, the president of APROSESC, Daniel Gustavo Junges, states that the expectation is to increase this number. “We understand that, over time, our customers will ask for the seal because they feel that seeds with these defined quality standards have a very good result for their crops”, highlights Junges.

“The creation of the seal aimed to raise the quality standard for soybean seeds produced in SC”, explains the president of the association. To receive the distinction, lots must present germination above 90% and vigor above 85%.

Santa Catarina stands out as an exporter of soybean seeds, and its main markets are the states of Paraná, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, and also Paraguay. “In terms of the market, we know that our product is very well regarded nationally and internationally”, highlights Daniel Gustavo Junges.

The endoclimatic conditions make Santa Catarina a privileged state for the production of soybean seeds. The high fertility of the soils, the mild temperature in which the crop develops and the cutting-edge technology used by producers in managing their crops are differences that, together, usually guarantee the quality of the Santa Catarina product.
