Technicians go to the field to research sugarcane harvest in MG
During the field trip, information will be researched on the progress of the harvest and estimates of the production of cane, sugar and alcohol
Data from the National Supply Company (Conab), released in September, reveal a 35,9% growth in cotton production, with an estimated volume of 4,1 million tons of seed and 2,7 million of cotton lint. The exchange rate and the improvement in prices contributed to leading producers to expand the planted area, mainly in the states of Bahia and Mato Grosso. As a result, the plume export forecast is also expected to exceed last year's by more than 50%, reaching the 1,5 million ton mark for the first time.
Eduardo Sachetti, cotton broker at Laferlins, presented the main figures for the sector, which showed Brazil as the second largest cotton exporter, behind only the United States and the fourth largest producer after India, China and the United States. According to him, "among the countries with the highest productivity, Brazil stands out for having rainfed cotton, unlike other countries", he concludes.
To keep up with the growth of the sector, the Adama, a global crop protection company, has been investing and strengthening its product portfolio for better crop performance across the country. Among the options are the two recent launches that combat cotton pests: Commissioner, which works with a very high spectrum of control with action in combating mites, aphids and whiteflies, in addition to controlling caterpillars, bedbugs, thrips and weevils. And the other release is Trivor, capable of controlling the development of the whitefly at all stages of its life cycle (eggs, nymphs and adults).
According to Fabricio Pacheco, Product Manager at Adama, “the arrival of the new products will certainly elevate the company to the position of holder of the best and most complete portfolio of pesticides for crops, which today is considered the second most important in the country behind only of soybeans", he explains.
Adama promotes various technical training to keep the team always qualified and attentive to market growth and demands. A recent company meeting held in Cuiabá (MT) brought together employees, speakers and consultants to highlight the importance of correct management, which will provide the best results. "During the event, our team expanded knowledge and training on the wide range of products aimed at cotton cultivation, such as herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. The market is growing and already represents a business potential of around US$1 billion. Our goal is to always offer the best solutions for the farmer. Because of this, the team must always be aligned with the options that ADAMA offers to the market", highlights Pacheco.
