A company that is part of one of the largest global agribusiness holdings, Adama (read ADAMÁ) joined the global campaign "Keep the soil alive, protect soil biodiversity", promoted by the UN FAO for World Soil Day 2020 (#WorldSoilDay ).
World Soil Day seeks to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems, as well as human well-being, by addressing the growing challenges in soil management. In Brazil, Adama embraces the cause through the C.U.I.D.A (Circuit for Intelligent Use of Agricultural Pesticides) program, which reiterates its purpose of bringing simplicity to the field, helping farmers to produce in a safe and sustainable way.
The program is divided into three groups and related activities, respectively:
Agriculture: To be profitable, farming requires adequate management and best practices in application technology. Only in this way is it possible to produce more, with quality and safety.
People: By adopting the best socio-environmental practices, the company directly contributes to the well-being of farmers, their health and the success and satisfaction with their business.
Terra: Taking care of the land is fundamental to agriculture, after all, it is in the soil where it all begins. Disseminating good techniques for conserving the soil is one of the objectives of Adama C.U.I.D.A.
As part of its launch, Adama C.U.I.D.A has been promoting actions linked to application technology, good agricultural practices, dissemination of content focused on agribusiness and encouraging female leadership.
In its actions focused on farming, so far Adama's Market Development team, in partnership with Agroefetiva, a company specialized in pesticide application technology, has already carried out 22 training sessions - in 14 face-to-face events in the South and Central-West regions, in the period before the pandemic, and eight online editions - and trained more than a thousand people, including own employees, cooperative employees, distributors and rural producers. Adama C.U.I.D.A will continue with its calendar of events on the importance of the correct use of agricultural pesticides, both for safety and operational efficiency.
Promoting knowledge about the land, awareness about good agricultural practices and correct pest management, Adama supports and multiplies online training from Sindiveg (National Union of the Plant Defense Products Industry). The digital distance learning platform - Sindiveg Trainings - brings together content about pesticides, their importance for agribusiness and highlights responsible application. Adama C.U.I.D.A promotes access to training, strengthening farmers' skills.
Establishing a direct link with people and, specifically, with the female universe in agribusiness, Adama C.U.I.D.A entered into a partnership with Rede UMA - União das Mulheres do Agro. As an initial action, it sponsored the participation of 300 women in the National Meeting of Cooperative Women, held virtually in September. For the coming months, actions linked to the transmission of technical content to women in agriculture who are members of Rede UMA and encouraging the multiplication of themes and good experiences in their regions are planned.
As a step in the evolution of its purpose of bringing simplicity to agriculture, offering farmers products and services that simplify their lives and help them grow, Adama launched, in May 2020, its new signature for the global brand: Listen > Learn > Delivery. Its Portuguese version is being promoted as Listen > Understand > Deliver.
"Adama CUIDA brings us closer to our distributors and farmers, helping them to strengthen the economic, social and environmental sustainability of farms in Brazil", reinforces Lydia Damian, Marketing Communications Manager at Adama Brasil.
