Joint action by the Paraná Agricultural Defense Agency (Adapar) and the Military Police helped to curb pesticide smuggling in Planalto. Inspection in warehouses and surrounding areas of a rural property found packages full and already used of pesticides of Argentine origin, not registered in Brazil: five liters of the herbicide Tiento (manufacturer Gleba SA, Argentine industry); five liters of unlabeled product (Argentine industry); a 15 kg package of Roundup herbicide (Monsanto Argentina SRL), with approximately two kilos remaining.

According to Adapar inspectors who participated in the action, four more empty boxes were found inside the box with this packaging, which indicates possible fractionation for commercialization.

The products and packaging were seized and sent to the Federal Revenue for appropriate disposal. The owner was fined for being in possession and using a product of foreign origin without registration in the country. The infraction is considered serious, as products without registration in the country are not tested by the competent bodies.
