The 10th edition of the Abisolo Forum and Exhibition will bring a circuit of lectures on innovation, economic sustainability and market intelligence to the city of Campinas, on the 5th and 6th of June. “Mineral Nutrition and Plant Disease” is a highlight of the program and will be presented by the professor from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Fabrício Ávila Rodrigues (in the picture). He is an agronomist and has a PhD in Phytopathology from the University of Florida, Gainesville (USA).
The presentation will address the relationships between plant diseases, beneficial macro, micro and nano nutrients, presenting new hypotheses and recent discoveries on the subject. An example of this are the positive impacts on reducing the development of plant pathologies, through the interaction between selenium and rare earth elements.
The professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) will also propose reflections on new developments in nanotechnology, explaining how many plant nutrients behave differently when applied at nanoscales. The content of the lecture is based on the updated second edition of the academic book “Mineral Nutrition and Plant Disease”, by Lawrence E. Datnoff and Wade H. Elmer, translated and edited by the professor, with support from Abisolo.
“My intention is for participants to expand their understanding of plant nutrition and innovative and sustainable strategies for managing plant diseases, clarifying the benefits not only of the entire production scale, but economic and social development as a whole”, he comments Rodrigues.
Considered the largest fertilizer industry fair in Latin America, the 10th edition of the Abisolo Forum and Exhibition is divided into four panels to provide an exchange of information, experiences and generations of new business for the segment.
The X Abisolo - Forum and Exhibition program is divided into four panels. On November 05th, the first day of the event, the opening panel will be dedicated to the theme “Business environment and competitiveness”, considering the international competitiveness of agribusiness, legal security, business environment, sustainability of Brazilian agricultural production and the market for carbon.
Then, in the afternoon, the second panel will deal with “Economic Sustainability of Agricultural Production”. The lectures in this panel will present the macroeconomic, political and geopolitical scenario of the fertilizer sector.
On the 06th, the morning program will resume with the third panel, dedicated to showing the “Technological evolution of the sector”. This panel will present recent scientific research on topics related to the physiological aspects of foliar absorption; interaction between mineral nutrition and plant disease; the mitigation of abiotic stress and nutrient-solubilizing microorganisms.
The fourth and final panel of the event will be dedicated to Market Intelligence, when the potential for adopting the use of special fertilizers in crops will be presented: soybeans, corn and sugar cane.
