Baldan highlights Avola sprayer at Bahia Farm Show
The added high-tech equipment is one of the main highlights of the agricultural fair in Luís Eduardo Magalhães
With a focus on technical safety in agricultural aviation operations, the Bahian Association of Cotton Producers (Abapa) offers, for the second consecutive year, training courses for Agricultural Aviation coordinators (CCAA), from the 3rd to the 8th of July, and for executor in Agricultural Aviation (CEAA), from June 26th to July 1st. They will be held at the entity's Training Center (CT), in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA), and at ABA Manutenção de Aeronaves, in Barreiras (BA).
“Agricultural aviation is a fundamental tool for Brazilian agriculture and needs to be practiced with technical rigor. Qualifying and training those involved in this process, respecting current legislation and taking into account all environmental, social and economic issues involved, is very important. Therefore, we are offering this course again, in 2023”, says the president of Abapa, Luiz Carlos Bergamaschi.
Aimed at agronomists and agricultural technicians, respectively, the coordinator and executor courses in agricultural aviation aim to train professionals who are directly involved in the application of phytosanitary products from agricultural aircraft, in accordance with Normative Instruction 002/2008, from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
“The process of applying phytosanitary products brings a great responsibility for the professionals involved, since these products, which, at the same time, have the function of protecting crops, can also reach sensitive areas. The role of protecting the environment also involves the people involved in applying these products, whether on land or in the air”, explains one of the course instructors, PhD agronomist engineer, Henrique Borges Neves Campos, from the company Sabri-Sabedoria Agrícola.
The preparation of the “mixture” that will be sprayed and its precise use are part of the responsibilities of these professionals, considered strategic for the sustainability of agricultural properties. The coordinators are agricultural engineers legally responsible for the activity. The executors are those who will put the coordinator's deliberations into practice. The professionals stay on the ground and analyze all the conditions for the pilots' work, including defining when the operation can be carried out or not.
According to the director of ABA Aircraft Maintenance, Ruddigger Alves da Silva, the course will cover several topics, such as aeronautical legislation, operational safety, risk management, among others. “We will provide participants with all the necessary knowledge so that coordinators and executors can perform their functions competently and safely,” he says.
The course is an agreement between Abapa and MAPA, in partnership with the companies ABA Manutenção de Aeronaves and Sabri Sabedoria Agrícola. The training will be free for members of the cotton growers' entity and will take place at CT Abapa, for theoretical classes, and at ABA, for practical classes. Places are limited. Before registering, it is very important to check whether the category registration is up to date, the CREA, in the case of engineers, and the CFTA for agricultural technicians. Without it, those interested will not be able to take the course.
