Since it was founded in 2010, the Training Center (CT) of the Bahian Association of Cotton Producers (Abapa) - Technology Partners has enabled access to professional training for more than 52 thousand agricultural workers, who operate in different types of functions, in the production chains of Western Bahia. Last Thursday (2), the partnership that has been allowing the increase in the quality of regional labor was renewed, with the signing of a Technical Cooperation Agreement, signed between Abapa, Agrosul Máquinas, John Deere of Brazil, the National Rural Learning Service (Senar/BA), and the Rural Producers Unions of Barreiras (SPRB) and Luís Eduardo Magalhães (PRLEM).

The commitment was formalized during the Bahia Farm Show 2022, at the event of Agrosul, a dealership of agricultural machinery and equipment, representative of the John Deere brand in the West of Bahia and the state of Piauí. Representing the partners at the event were the president of Abapa, Luiz Carlos Bergamaschi, the businessman Olmiro Flores, from Agrosul, the manager of Knowledge Management Region 3, from John Deere, Cláudio Trevisan, the president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Bahia and Senar/BA, Humberto Miranda de Oliveira, the president of SPRB, David Schmidt, and the president of SPRLEM, Greice Klein.

Initially conceived with a focus on the areas of agricultural mechanization, to fill the lack of professionals trained to operate and maintain high-tech machines and equipment, the CT has expanded its operations over the years to other areas, such as road vehicles, earthmoving, agricultural pivots and, more recently, agricultural aviation. Other companies also joined the project, enabling the expansion of the range of training, which, since its inauguration until today, has provided more than 2,2 courses in approximately 15 areas of competence.

“With massive investment in scientific research and technology, Brazil has developed a model of tropical agriculture that is unprecedented in the world, which is evolving at a dizzying pace, along with technological innovations. And if a third of the country's jobs are directly or indirectly linked to the countryside, the people who occupy these positions also need to keep up with developments. Therefore, the Technology Partners Training Center is today one of Abapa's priorities. This investment in professional training translates into regional development, improving our economic, social and environmental indexes”, says the president of Abapa, Luiz Carlos Bergamaschi. He recalls that, although the priority of service is for farm professionals, many courses are open or aimed at people in the community, facilitating the population's access to Rural Professional Training (FPR) and Social Promotion, with the quality support of the S System , in this specific case, SPRB and SPRLEM.

During the event, Olmiro Flores, from Agrosul Máquinas, recalled the beginning of the partnership and the harmony between the partners to make CT grow and achieve its objectives. “We never spare any effort. If we needed to build another room, or buy materials and equipment, we would do it. CT is a success story and example for Brazil, of the proactive action of the private sector, always doing more for the region. It is important to highlight the social impact of CT on training and increasing people's employability. This is good for everyone”, concluded the businessman.
