More than 96 tons of seeds had their sale suspended in Mato Grosso do Sul
The action was concentrated in the regions of Campo Grande and Chapadão do Sul
Grape producers from Jundiaí and the region have an appointment with agrochemical application technology on the 8th. A workshop, which takes place at the IAC Fruit Center, anchored in theoretical and practical content, will train farmers and viticulture professionals to use correct, safe and sustainable use of sprayers used to apply products to control pests, diseases and invasive plants. The event is carried out by the Jundiaí Lugar de Alimento Seguro Program through the Aplique Bem project, led by CEA – Engineering and Automation Center, of the IAC of Jundiaí.
According to the director of CEA and coordinator of Aplique Bem, scientific researcher Hamilton Ramos, the workshop will be divided into theoretical and practical agendas. “The objective is to help grape producers adapt their spraying system to a sustainable technological model. With this, it creates conditions to reduce costs, waste and deliver higher quality grapes to the market in general and to the population of Jundiaí”, summarizes Ramos.
According to Ramos, the content of the workshop ranges from basic safety principles, linked to the management of agricultural pesticides, to technical procedures for regulating and calibrating sprayers, for the grape producer to obtain productivity, profitability, sustainability and effective control of pests, diseases and weeds.
“We deal with the adjustment of agricultural sprayers, the operation of accessories, such as spray nozzles, pressure gauges and filters; protecting rural workers with personal protective equipment (PPE). We also encourage changes in behavior capable of transferring gains, in productivity and sustainability, to grape production”, adds Ramos.
Unprecedented in the region and free of charge, the Jundiaí Lugar de Alimento Seguro Program brings together the Agricultural Association, the local city hall, the company UPL and CEA-IAC, an entity of the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of SP.
“The correct use of technology in the field transfers direct benefits to the population of Jundiaí. Good practices deliver safe food for consumption, avoid risks of environmental contamination of properties and the exposure of farmers and workers to chemical agents, which are necessary for crop productivity and supply”, concludes Hamilton Ramos.
