Gross Value of Agricultural Production in 2023 is estimated at R$ 1,179 trillion
Crops have an expected turnover of R$ 835,5 billion and livestock farming of R$ 343,8 billion
The commercialization of the 2022/23 soybean harvest, estimated at 22,34 million tons, a record in history, is slow in the State of Paraná, which is mainly due to the low price of the product on the market. The analysis can be seen in the Agricultural Situation Bulletin for the week of June 7th to 16th. The document is prepared by technicians from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab).
On average in recent harvests, sales exceeded 70% of production in this period. However, the last report, released at the end of May, showed 43% of sales, a volume that must not have changed much in the last 15 days. The drop in oilseed prices means that producers who have the possibility of storage end up holding more of the product.
The price received by soybean producers for a 60 kg bag is around R$119,00, a reduction of approximately 32% compared to June 2022, when the price reached R$176,00. According to the Deral document, the greater supply of the product on the domestic market, falling prices on the international market and appreciation of the real against the dollar are some factors that are currently putting pressure on the price of soybeans.
The rains of the last few days throughout Paraná should help in the recovery of corn plants impacted by the drought that persisted in most of the State. This week, crop conditions remained stable compared to the previous week, with 84% of the area showing good condition.
In relation to wheat, IBGE's biannual survey revealed a record in the volume stored on December 31, 2022 in Brazil, reaching 7,42 million tons. This value represents an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2021 (6,42 million tons). This volume would be enough to meet the consumption of Brazilian mills until mid-August this year.
Around 69% of the 299 thousand hectares of the second bean harvest have already been harvested in Paraná. The largest areas yet to be harvested are concentrated in the Southwest region, and are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
The Deral document also talks about the five main fruits traded at the Paraná State Supply Centers (Ceasa) in 2022: apple, banana, papaya, orange and mango. They were responsible for more than half of the segment's business in public wholesale units.
