Wheat prices have fallen in recent days

Liquidity is slow in the domestic wheat market this year-end, especially due to weakened demand. Buyers consulted by Cepea appear to be well-stocked and aware of the devaluation of the dollar against the Real. Therefore, prices have fallen in recent days in all markets monitored by Cepea.

In the field, despite adverse weather conditions in October and November, the Rio Grande do Sul harvest was considered positive, according to Emater/RS, due to the yield and quality of the grains obtained. Furthermore, according to the Wheat Sector Chamber of Rio Grande do Sul, the state is expected to have a good quality harvest this season, between 2,3 and 2,5 million tons, to be confirmed in the coming days.

For next year, the perspective is for an increase in area, which could return to around one million hectares, a number that the state has not reached since 2014.
