Wheat price should remain attractive to sellers in 2022

The national wheat harvest reached record production in 2021, even with climatic adversities during crop development. And, despite the greater availability of wheat on the domestic market, imports continued to rise in the second half of last year, and this context should continue to be verified in 2022.

According to Cepea researchers, Brazil is still dependent on cereal imports to supply the domestic market, negotiating mainly with Argentina. Furthermore, exports must also be larger in 2022, given the lower global supply and high prices external.

As expectations indicate a high dollar in 2022, imports should continue to be more expensive and domestic prices may remain at high levels.
