Corn buyers remain away from the national spot market, with expectations of better opportunities in the coming weeks. According to Cepea employees, these agents are based on the progress of the harvest and the maturity of funding debts at the end of August and September, which could lead sellers to accept negotiating new lots at lower prices, in order to “make cash”. For now, most producers also remain withdrawn from the market.

As a result, negotiations are slow in the spot market, and prices are falling. Between August 13th and 20th, the ESALQ/BM&FBovespa Indicator (Campinas-SP) fell 1,08%, closing at R$ 98,79/60 kg bag on Friday, 20th.
