Valtra has unveiled the sixth generation of the T Series, with power ranging from 170 hp to 245 hp, a new AGCO Power CORE75 engine, two transmission options, and updated operating systems, automation, and digital agriculture features. The manufacturer is targeting the tractors at professional producers and service providers.

The new generation adopts a platform developed to integrate tractors, implements, and farm management. The line also receives the SmartTouch Gen2 system and factory preparation for the PTx FarmENGAGE platform.

CORE75 engine

The AGCO Power CORE75 engine uses six cylinders and has a displacement of 7,5 liters. In the T236 model, it delivers up to 245 hp and a maximum torque of 1.184 newton-meters.

The system works with Smart Power Management. This system adjusts engine and transmission behavior according to the operation and the operator's selected preference. The strategy aims to combine traction capacity and fuel consumption.

According to AGCO Power laboratory tests, the CORE75 showed up to a 5% reduction in specific fuel consumption at the point of best efficiency compared to the previous generation AGCO Power 74HD engine. The company expects to complete independent validation tests by the end of 2026.

The operator can select Eco, Normal, or Power modes. The engine also operates with a wide torque range at low RPMs. According to the manufacturer, this feature helps maintain performance during load changes.

Two transmission options

The sixth generation offers two transmission options. One uses the AGCO ML 180 continuously variable transmission. The second employs a new ten-step powershift transmission.

The settings allow for transport speeds of 40, 50, or 57 kilometers per hour, depending on the specification and local traffic regulations.

The platform utilizes a wheelbase of 2.950 millimeters, a ground clearance of up to 575 millimeters, and a turning radius of 4,9 meters. The hydraulic system provides a flow rate of up to 200 liters per minute. The maximum permitted gross weight reaches 14 kilograms.

SmartTouch Gen2

The new T Series incorporates SmartTouch Gen2. The interface uses a 12-inch touchscreen and offers ten times the processing power of the previous generation, according to Valtra.

The system has a startup time of 22 seconds. The operator can configure work screens with up to 16 quadrants and create specific profiles for operators, tasks, and implements.

The SmartTouch Gen2 offers up to 12 configurable buttons. The interface integrates guidance features, ISOBUS, and implement management. A help function provides additional information and QR codes for reference.

The manufacturer also offers the new Active Gen2 armrest. The solution uses dedicated controls and configurable functions. SmartTouch Gen2 and Active Gen2 synchronize information with the screen installed on the A-pillar of the cabin.

Adjustments during operations

The sixth generation incorporates automation features focused on controlling the tractor and implements. The list includes Tractor Implement Management, Ground Speed Hydraulics, and Front Linkage Control.

Ground Speed Hydraulics links hydraulic functions to travel speed. Other features allow for programming controls and managing implements. The strategy aims to reduce repetitive adjustments during operations.

The line also maintains the Valtra Unlimited program, designed for factory customization. The manufacturer anticipates configurations for agriculture, livestock farming, service provision, forestry activities, and municipal applications.

Connected machines

The tractors leave the factory ready for PTx FarmENGAGE. The platform allows for managing machine data, planning, and communication between the office and the field.

The system allows for the transfer of tasks, documentation, and agronomic information. Valtra also anticipates the use of FarmENGAGE in fleets comprised of equipment from different manufacturers.

According to Johan Grotell, product marketing manager at Valtra EME, the integration between machine, implement, management and data expands the use of embedded technologies in different operations.

Matti Tiitinen, vice president of sales and marketing at Valtra EME, states that the new generation sought to meet demands presented by farmers and service providers. Among the points mentioned are performance, operating costs, connectivity, customization, and ease of operation.
