Valmont Irrigation announces changes in its leadership. Marcelo Lopes (pictured) takes over as CEO for Brazil, while Cristiano Del Nero assumes the position of Vice President of International Technology and will now work globally to accelerate the company's technology initiatives.

Marcelo Lopes is an agricultural engineer graduated from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a master's degree in Agricultural Machinery Engineering from Esalq/USP, as well as an MBA in Administration from Fundação Dom Cabral and executive training from Columbia Business School.

With solid experience in agribusiness and previous experience at Valmont, Marcelo takes on the role bringing a strong commitment to customer proximity and strengthening the dealer network, one of the company's main differentiators in the country. "Our focus is to maximize results in the field through increasingly connected, efficient solutions aligned with the producer's needs," he emphasizes.

The transition also marks a new chapter in the company's innovation journey. Cristiano Del Nero, who led the Brazilian operation in recent years, will now work globally, focusing on expanding and accelerating Valmont's embedded technology portfolio.

For Cristiano Del Nero, the movement reflects the strategic role of technology in the future of agriculture. “Connectivity is redefining the field. Our goal is to lead this transformation, making irrigation increasingly intelligent, integrated, and data-driven,” he states.

The transition occurs at an important time for the company, with the launch of innovative solutions such as Icon+, a panel developed for updating and connecting already installed pivots, and Machine Diagnostics, which marks an advance in intelligent equipment management and paves the way for fleet management.
