Born in Toledo, in the interior of Paraná, producer Michel Berté moved with his parents and two brothers to Goiás in 1983. At that time, the family settled in the Paraúna region, located around 150 kilometers from Goiânia. The objective was to work on soybean and corn crops.

For many years, land cultivation and harvest results were very similar, with the number of bags per hectare varying by more or less bags according to surprises in the weather. Excess or lack of rain, especially during the plant development period, always affected the final numbers. The inputs available for fertilization also did not vary much and chemicals were the option available on the market.

In 2015, Berté discovered Superbac fertilizers. The proposal contained in the product caught the producer's attention, mainly in terms of the ability to accelerate the decomposition of organic matter; improvement in rooting; making minerals such as phosphorus and potassium available to plants and rebalancing the soil at physical, chemical and biological levels.

The first step was to use the new fertilizers on a part of the planted area and feel the results. In the following harvests, the size of the area increased according to the good performance achieved.

This year, already using the brand's fertilizers on the 4.500 hectares of soybean crops and the 2.500 hectares of corn divided between harvest and dry season at Fazenda Santa Bárbara, the results go beyond the benefits provided to the soil, in the quality of the plants, such as denser foliage and more vivid color and crop productivity.

The producer highlights that, in the last two years, where the lack of rain and the so-called summer season, a period of unseasonably intense heat, caused a drop of up to 20% in harvests, Superbac fertilizers played a fundamental role: maintaining productivity.

“In 2017, we harvested 62 bags per hectare. In 2018, the volume fell to an average of 55 bags per hectare. This year, even with the summer that hit the region hard, we achieved a productivity of 60 bags per hectare, a volume above the region's average”, explains the producer.

The producer's observation is that Superbac fertilizers played a very important role in retaining moisture during the prolonged period of heat and lack of rain, which creates greater stress on the crop and impacts productivity. “Our perception is that, where we applied Supergan, the plant was more nourished and did not suffer the impacts of the summer”, says Berté.

In 2019, the producer purchased a total of 1130 tons of fertilizers from Superbac and the expectation is that this volume will be even greater in the next harvests, as the area of application has been increasing year by year.
